Sukkot at Livnot U’Lehibanot
Sukkot is the Jewish celebration of nature and the harvest, a time when we move out of our “permanent” structures into temporary dwellings. There is no better place to celebrate this transition than in the Galilee and the mystical city of Tzfat.
The program includes volunteering to help the community, special water hikes in the Galilee and Golan, discussions and learning sessions and a beautiful, traditional Shabbat experience.
Join us at Livnot in the mystical Old City of Tzfat for the Livnot Sukkot program 2014. From Sunday, October 12 through to Sunday, October 19, join us for:
- Trek through Golan waterfalls
- Taste of Kabbalah workship
- Festive Shabbat experience
- Exploring Judaism through nature
- Connecting with the community of Tzfat
$150 per week including accommodation at the Livnot campus and 2 meals per day, hiking trips and program activities. This opportunity is especially geared towards MASA Israel participants, post-Birthright travelers, young professionals spending the semester or year in Israel and Livnot alumni.
Through the week participants connect not only with the Tzfat community but also with each other. It’s hard to describe how a group becomes a family in a week’s time but this is exactly what happens at Livnot. The highlight of the week is Shabbat, when participants welcome Shabbat by watching the sunset from the Livnot balcony followed by a lively Livnot Shabbat dinner, meals with host families, and finally a musical havdalah.
Looking back on my Masa experience I know that it would not have been the same if I had not spent my break at Livnot.”
