Year-round volunteering in Tzfat, Israel
Livnot connects visitors from around the world with meaningful community service projects in Israel. Volunteering with Livnot is a great way to participate in Tikkun Olam(repairing the world) during one of the days of your tour or vacation.
Work crews set out from Livnot daily to renovate/rebuild parks and “green spaces” throughout the city, renew apartments of the elderly, needy and victims of terror by painting and minor repairs, volunteer at the English library, brighten the day of residents at a retirement home with a visit or song, work in a preschool with special needs children, assist in excavation/restoration projects at a 16th century archeological dig, volunteer at the Ethiopian Immigrant Absorption Center or the children’s wing of Ziv Hospital, or participate in a number of other community service activities. Livnot works in partnership with national agencies and local government in seven cities throughout Israel. Volunteers are placed where needed, but please let us know about any special skills or interests that you have.
Volunteers provide about 5 hours per day of valuable community service. The daily volunteer shift is from 8:00 am until approximately 1:30 p.m., Sunday – Thursday. Upon completion of the day’s work, volunteers are free to explore their surroundings by taking advantage of local cultural activities, classes, art shows, concerts, tours of the city or the surrounding countryside, etc.
Eligibility:
Jewish individuals, ages 19 – 99, from all backgrounds are welcome to join Livnot’s Israel volunteer projects.
