Sweet chicken with soya and garlic

Spring has definitely sprung and the Livnot campus is busy busy busy. Programs are underway; we’ve already had a couple of amazing Northern Exposure groups, and in a few more days we’ll start our first Galilee Fellowship of the summer. One of the best things about the programs are the festive Shabbat dinners, and after we take into account the challah and wine, Shabbat just wouldn’t be complete without some delicious chicken. That is why for this week’s installment of on Yom Revi’i Recipe we have a great recipe for Sweet chicken with soya and garlic.

You will need the following ingredients for every tray of chicken:

Sweet Chicken

1tsp paprika
2 tbsp garlic
1tsp black pepper
1 tsp dry ginger
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup honey or brown sugar
1/3 cup wine


Clean chicken as necessary.
Sprinkle spices on chicken.
Pour liquids over chicken.
Massage all ingredients into the chicken.
Cover with saran wrap and let sit for at least an hour.
Preheat the oven to 180° C.
Remove saran wrap and cook at 180° C for 1 ½ hours or until cooked all the way through.
