Livnoters Making a Difference for Operation Pillar of Defense

“Shmira Project” Set Up by Two Livnot Families

Past chevre Yakov and Bat Sheva Goldman, and Eric and Elaine Gerstenfeld, from Baltimore, created this grassroots program which pairs individual Jews worldwide with a soldier or resident of southern Israel. By you doing acts of kindness, prayer and learning Torah in their name it adds to the spiritual merit of that soldier or resident in danger. All participants are helping to bring about unity, connectedness and the spiritual growth of the Jewish People. Take a name and make a difference.

Video: Staying Safe in Air Raids – For Kids

Past Chevre Kerry Bar-Cohn (a.k.a. Rebbetzin Tap), along with her husband David, from Ramat Beit Shemesh in Israel, created a video to help kids in Israel be prepared for the current rocket threats they face. The video, in a kid-friendly way, presents some very basic instructions for kids on what to do when an air raid siren goes off.

Counter Protest in Downtown Boston

Past chevre Andy Warren and his son attend a pro-Israel rally to counter the pro-Hamas demonstration in Copley Square, opposite the Israeli Consulate. They were joined yesterday by groups from Stand With Us, the Russian Jewish Community Federation, and Maimonides High School.

How are you getting involved in your community?  What do you think is the best way to let the world know that we stand together with Israel?  Tell us about it in the comments section below!
