Tenufa Ba’Kehila

Gabi NachmaniIn 1985, Gavriel (Gabi) and Tova Leah (Tina) Nachmani came into the Livnot family, and became an integral part of its operations.  After being here at the Tzfat campus, they moved to Jerusalem in 1993 to run the Livnot Campus there for the 15 years of its existence, until it closed in 2008.

Over the years, Gabi developed our Community Service Project, which became an essential resource for Welfare Departments, in that it deals with the weakest populations who commonly “fall between the cracks” in receiving assistance.  Livnot is still the only organization devoted to making home repairs in the apartments of the elderly, the needy, and new immigrants.  Gabi took the project and developed it in Tzfat, Hatzor, Beit Shemesh, Hadera, Pardes Chana and Or Akiva, as well as continually developing it in Jerusalem.

We are excited that Gabi is now taking upon himself the whole community service project, and building an independent non-profit organization separate from Livnot, called “Tenufa Ba’Kehila.” Gabi will still be closely connected to Livnot’s infrastructure for a while, but we want to do everything possible to help him develop this project to reach its amazing potential.

Stay tuned for a formal “Good Bye” evening in the near future.
